Belmont Fire Station a hazard

The place is a health hazard. The scent from the Morgue is bad, far worse when the electricity is not functioning. The hospital dump behind the brigade is not cleaned on a daily basis.

When there is a sewer breakdown at the hospital, it flows through the faucet at the rear of the station onto its compound and also in the drains at the station and on the road way.

If the Fire Brigade Union had more mettle they would have let the nation really know what their firemen undergo on a daily basis.

I am not commenting on the state of the station house. I used to be in and out of the station on a daily basis. I was what you call a ‘Runner.”

I therefore dare any one from the ministry to spend a few hours at night at that place. I dare say that all the Senior Officers know of the shame that is the Belmont Brigade.
