Venezuelan jockey Garcia rides at Santa Rosa

The newcomer is Yubari Garcia, a 23-year-old jockey who has a total of 64 winning rides in his career which began in 2003.

According to information from the Trinidad and Tobago Racing Authority, Garcia who goes to scale at 50 kilos, just missed winning the apprentice title in 2004.

Last year at the La Riconada Race Course in neighbouring Venezuela, he had 106 mounts winning six times being second on 12 occasions and third ten times.

And at the Valencia Race Track, Garcia had 49 rides winning three races, second three times, third twice and fourth five times.

He will join fellow Venezuelan Wilmer Galviz, the current Trinidad and Tobago champion rider. Garcia has been booked to ride two horses from the Glenn Mendez barn tomorrow, Fearless Angel in the day’s opener and Bold Mover in the third race.
