Pro League pack chase Jabloteh

Jabloteh hold a narrow one point lead at the top of the standings and will be looking to continue their awesome form this season.

Now with the return of their national players Anthony Wolfe and Cyd Gray, together with strikers Kerry Noray and Jason Marcano, they are stronger and much more harder to beat.

They are second from bottom on the table but they are coming off an encouraging performance against Joe Public despite losing the match in the 88th minute via a dubious penalty.

While Jabloteh try to strengthen their position at the top, the rest of the pack will be coming hard at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar.

Joe Public will be hoping to find back their scoring boots when they face a tricky Superstar Rangers. The Eastern Lions are third behind Jabloteh and North East Stars and maximum points will be very helpful in their title chase.

In the second match of the double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, champions W Connection will be seeking to gather points against Caledonia AIA Fire.

When the two teams met earlier in the league the Savonetta Boys had the better of the exchange winning 3-0.

But as the season progressed they met in the Courts Pro Bowl Semi-Finals and the Men from Morvant held the local giants goalless but then lost a penalty shoot-out.

On their day Caledonia can be a dangerous prospect and seem to rise to the occasion. Coached by Jamal Shabbazz, they are still smarting from their 2-1 defeat to North East on Sunday.

This was after they took a 1-0 lead and would love to take three points away today against Connection. Caledonia are fifth on 17 points with Superstar Rangers on their backs.

In south Trinidad second place North East Stars will be hosted by Starworld Strikers who will not want to take their foot off the gas pedal.

Coach Miguel Hackett seems to be doing something right in the Grande camp as they have been getting consistent results and feel they have the measure of their southern opponents today.

North East’s confidence must be high after they displayed true character in front of their home fans in their last match against Caledonia.

They came from a goal down to win 2-1 and the last time they met Starworld they prevailed 1-0. Across in Tobago the Boys from the Sister Isle are enduring another rough season sitting at the bottom of the pack. Today they will host United Petrotrin at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.

Despite, their poor run this season, the Tobagonians will take courage from the fact that one of their two points they have accumulated this season was a hard fought draw against the Oilmen.

Their coach Peter Granville will be praying his men can pull something special out of the hat this time around as well.
