Goodwill swimners for Suriname

According to the team manager Jason Wickham, “the premise of this event was, and still remains, to expose swimmers who had hardly any international experience to competition.”

With the 16 players under the age of 10— which deems them too young to participate in the regional meets (CARIFTA, CISC and CCCAN), the Goodwill games will be their first taste of action at the national stage.

“With our country experiencing one of its most challenging times, it is important that organisations such as ours engage in partnerships to ensure that our nation’s youths’ energies are channelled into something positive, such as sport,” Wickham said.
