Seven-year-old tops Solo Scalextric

Deane, a seven-year-old student of Spring Village Hindu School, took home the Solo Trophy and a case of Solo soft-drinks after winning the group with a tally of 78.7 points.

The Hutton Road, St Joseph resident got the better of 12-year-old Nickolai Richards (78.2 points), 11-year-old Kathrine Lee-A-Ping (71.1 points) and 12-year-old Kevin Lee-A-Ping (69.7 points).

Jenelle Joseph out-sped her male rivals to capture the 15-75 age group, with a total of 79.2 points. The 19-year-old defeated Sayyad Khan (78.6 points), David Deane (75) and Bjorn Ronalds (73) in the division.

Another teenager, 18-year-old Luke Bhola, took the Champion of Champions section with 79.1, with reigning champ Junior Joseph next with 78.4, 15-year-old Rondell Hypolite with 76.9 and Ramesh Bhola with 76.2.
