Bandit robs insurance firm
According to police reports, a man approached one of the employees, at about 11.30 am, and asked for someone the employee did not know. The man then took out a gun and announced a hold-up. He ordered the employees to hand over their cash, jewelry and cell phones. He took them to a back room and searched their wallets and handbags. The armed bandit then ran out.
The employees immediately notified the E999 Rapid Response Unit and a team of officers responded to the call. The office was closed for the rest of the day.
The workers told Newsday they were shaken up and hoped the bandit would be caught.
The St Joseph Police Station is continuing the inquiries.
