Carib FC dump San Juan 3-0

Carib dumped their opponents with goals by Micah Andrews, Christopher Young and Kenneth Rodrick, and now take a three-point lead at the top of the Western Conference. The San Juan men put up some very stout defence and were able to hold the Brewery Boys 0-0 at the half, but surrendered their first goal after 60 minutes.

The Brewery Boys made it a weekend double when they edged Carlsberg Athletico Sports Institute 1-0 on Tennyson Ragoonath’s first half goal.

Previous leaders WASA Clean & White got full points from their match against Media Net East San Juan United, when the ground was declared unfit for play. And Athletico blanked Young Lions 2-0 on goals by Chris Harewood and the prolific Mario Reyes. But the Young Lions gained their first points of the season when Malta Carib Alcons defaulted their game.

Garnet Glasgow gave Barataria Ball Players a 1-0 half-time lead over Malta Carib Alcons in their match. But midway through the second period, Alcons drew level through a Victor Charles goal only for Kevon Blackman to fire home what turned out to be the winner after 79 minutes.

There was no such luck for the Barataria footballers in their match with Malick Togetherness, however.

Togetherness battled back from a 2-1 deficit at half-time to pound in two goals by Sheldon Findlay and Shane Legerton to grab the victory.

Earlier Keon Wilson scored a double for the Barataria. Ronnie McShine pulled one back for Togetherness.

In the other match, M&M Real Maracas and Santos drew 2-2, after the Maracas men led 1-0 at half-time.

Donovan Derek scored both goals for Maracas while Darryl Toussaint also netted both for Santos.
