Seven clubs bid for b-ball honour

The team will play a round-robin format and the top four teams will advance to the Big-Four semi-finals and final which will be a best of three series.

Over 100 players and officials are involved in the league which is in its 44th year. Republic Bank has been sponsoring the league which is a community project for the last 35 years.

Meanwhile, the trio of Andre Alexander, Joseph Cox and Ancil Olliverre of Black Label demolished the Success Village Pythons defence to usher their team to a 20-point 91-71 victory at the St Barb’s Basketball Court on Monday. The three players scored in double-digits with Alexander top-scoring with 29 points, Cox 25 and Olliverre 20. Black Label led for much of the match gaining a 50-44 lead at the end of the first half.

Curry Lee Hood tried to keep his team in the match, equalling the match-high of 29 points but Pythons trailed until time expired. On Saturday, Crusaders and Celtics recorded victories with wins over Spring Squad and Republic Bank Arrows, respectively.

Crusaders won 63-67 and Celtics 99-54.
