India actors in Nagar ‘Ramayan Ballet’

He has been conducting workshops with local actors on the latest techniques in dance, drama, music, stage lighting, costume, ornaments, make-up and set designing.

In India, Goswami is known for staging various historical and mythological dramas in an innovative hi-tech technique. The story is presented with the help of scintillating light and sound effects with multistage presentation incorporating huge sets against a natural backdrop.

“In order to make our ballet exceptional, we experiment with blending of theatre, dance, light shadows and technical wizardry.

“So that our ballets are more captivating when we present them with colourful costumes, head gears and elaborate make-up,” Goswami said.

The ballet will run non-stop with one scene leading into the next. This uninterrupted change over with excellent blending of dialogues, songs and couplets on a musical score, is specially prepared for making it more interesting.

For the Ramayan Ballet he has brought in valuable costuming and props constructed by India’s top movie designers for this production.

The ballet forms part of the trade show entitled “Festival of India” at the Nagar site. Over 75 businesses from India are here for this exposition which will end on Monday.

Among the local actors, Anushka Dube, Miss India TnT, will play Sita (the wife of Lord Rama who is the hero of the Ramayan Ballet) and Ena Maharaj will play Queen Kausilya (Rama’s mother). The cast also includes Martin Sahadath, Sabrina Bissessarsingh, Lisa Samlal and the Esmaralda Ram Leela committee.
