Couple hurt in Heritage mishap

According to police reports, the couple was part of a group following the truck and was on the ground, unseen by the driver of the truck. The vehicle drove unto them.

An alarm was raised and the vehicle was immediately halted. However, the young woman suffered severe bruises to her right thigh, while the young man complained of back pains.

The couple was taken to the Scarborough Regional Hospital and kept for observation. There were frequent army and police patrols in the area during the celebrations.

Officers from the Old Grange Police Station said apart from a few arrests for minor scuffles and obscene language, the event was virtually incident-free
