Miss Teen finalists

Pageant coordinator, Mahendra Rampersad said more than 73 teenagers were interviewed for this competition. As part of the pageant, contestants were asked to start a “Guardian Angel” project in their neighbourhood for which they will receive additional points.

“In this venture the young women will be asked to identify a social or environmental project and work with other people to bring success in their communities,” Rampersad said.

Projects include assisting poor families, starting literacy classes, taking care of the old folks and those trapped in drugs problems. A special prize will be given for the “Most Successful Project.”

The finals take place at the Rudranath Learning Resource Centre in Mc Bean Couva on September 17 at 8 pm. The winner will represent TT at the Miss World Teen Pageant in Queensland, Australia, on April 17, 2007. The first and second runner-up will go to the Miss Antilles Pageant in 2007.
