Club Sando footballers win twice

Jason Sambury scored twice to give the Sando team a two-one victory over F and E Diamond United in the Leonson Lewis Division, and then they whipped arch-rivals San Fernando Giants four-two on Sunday.

Sambury, Jayson Joseph, Romeo Williams and Akiel Noreiga scored one goal each for the winners, while Andell Grant and Obasie Gabriel got one each for Giants.

Diamond United was on the losing end again on Sunday when they were drubbed nine-one by Barrackpore United.

Mario Latroy had a career match, scoring five goals for the winners while Sean Jarvis fired in a hat-trick and Randy Khanhai got the other goal.

Ricardo Wright netted the consolation for Diamond.

Fire Services edged X-Men two-one in the same division with goals from Kevin Benjamin and Nelinho Mierez.

Dinesh Ramdass got the lone goal for X-Men.

In Leroy DeLeon Division action, Alutraint La Brea All Stars stopped Palo Seco two-one with Andre Alexis and Chad Joseph doing the scoring.

Ex-national striker Dexter Cyrus got the losers’ goal. Point Fortin Civic Centre shut out Hermitage Youth Organisation three-one in their clash.

Keron Robley doubled up for the “Black City” men and Andy Alves added the third.

Uprising Youths battled grimly to hold on for a one-nil triumph over Los Iros FC on Ancil Wells’ goal.

But Penal All Stars and Playaz FC featured in a thrilling two all draw.

Anslem Paul and Shay Sutherland scored for the Penal team while Kevin Rouse and Anson Gibbs notched the goals for Playaz.
