Salandy gets $15,000 HiLo assist

They have done so through a $15,000 sponsorship of local world champion woman boxer Giselle Salandy.

The supermarket giants recognising the potential of Salandy to make the country proud said they will always support “whenever a youth of the nation has the potential to be great.”

After hearing Salandy’s plea for corporate Trinidad and Tobago to come on board, HiLo Food Stores took a conscious decision to assist her in her quest to become the greatest ever boxing champion in this country, by way of their accreditation of the WBA and WBC titles.

HiLo thinks this is great for this country and the nation’s favourite food stores are please to be associated with this boxing event.

Salandy would attempt to create boxing history by being the first fighter in the history of West Indies boxing to unify the two most prestigious titles in the world WBA/WBC when she takes on Lisa Holloway at Skinner Park, San Fernando, on September 15.

If Salandy is successful she will join Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman and “Marvellous” Marvin Hagler who have achieved this feat.
