Goal City back on top in Tobago

The “Castara Kids” shut out Earlbrokes 3-0 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium training ground. Kerlon Ferguson sent Goal City on their way to victory in the 17th minute and brother Akini made it 2-0 in the 34th. But after missing numerous easy goalscoring chances, only veteran Roosevelt Manswell scored in the 61st minute for the final tally.

Victory moved Goal City two points clear of idle Stokelyvale.

At Roxborough, defending champions Charlotteville Unifiers regained their goalscoring form and hammered Mason Hall Police Youth Club 5-0.

Last season’s leading goalscorer Kevern Murphy and Kevern Martin both scored two goals and Rodney Murray added the other, to leave the Mason Hall team still without a single point.

Bethel United rushed into third position on the standings after journeying to Speyside and handing home team Sidey’s a 2-0 beating, with goals from Dwayne Marcelle and Akim Walker.

Perennial champs St Clair’s Coaching School were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Georgia FC at the Dwight Yorke Stadium on Friday night.

Keon Daniel fired in a free-kick and Denzil James scored the other for Coaching School, while Kerron Phillips and Marvin Wright were the goalscorers for Georgia.

The match turned robust in the later stages and referee Noel Bynoe gave marching orders to one player from each team.
