Port-of-Spain is a dump

Let me explain. On Friday as usual, the streets were dirty with Charlotte Street being the nastiest of them all. Garbage, crates, boxes, illegal sellers were everywhere.

Did I mention the blasting music? Music so loud that I couldn’t even hear the police siren coming down the street.

What really cracked my nut was the utter blasphemy that bombarded my very soul while anxiously awaiting transportation to get out of Port-of-Spain.

Hard to ignore the music blasting from these boxes, I hear this song playing, only to hear the lyrics `marijuana is all I need.”

For God’s sake, we already have to put up with so much filth and crime in the city, must we hear music advocating the love and lust of illegal drugs too?

Mr Mayor, I feel sorry for you. You have no control over your city, but I’m not surprised and I don’t blame you totally. I truly believe there’s a problem with your superiors. It’s clear that anyone with the courage that’s proactive enough to rid their city of this kind of obscene filth is removed or forced out of office.

Just ask the former Mayor of San Fernando.

Mr Prime Minister, please let the Mayor do his job. Elections next year?
