Two to go on trial for killing teen

Devon Isaacs, 18, of Mentor Alley, Laventille and Kezley Towine, 20, of Hamlet Trace, St Barbs in Laventille will be tried for the murder of Sherwin McIntosh at the next sitting of the Port-of-Spain High Court.

McIntosh, 18, of Soogrim Trace, Laventille was shot in the head at Mentor Alley on January 25.

He died instantly, while his friend Davey Williams, who was also shot, remained warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital for several days.

Isaacs and Towine were charged with murdering McIntosh and attempting to murder Williams.

Despite submissions by defence attorneys Orwin Kirk and Leon Gokool that the evidence led from 11 witnesses by state attorney Denise Badrie was unreliable and had not satisfied the requirements of a prima facie case against their clients, Mc Nicolls ruled in favour of the State.

Both accused opted to give particulars of an alibi in writing to the Director of Public Prosecution within ten days.
