Japan official: TT stability

Inoguchi spoke to members of the media after she and an entourage of Japanese officials met with Foreign Affairs Minister, Knowlson Gift, at his Knowsley Building, Port-of-Spain office.

Their discussions centred on Japan, an energy efficient country, preparing to work with TT to facilitate the maximisation of our energy resources in downstream areas, Gift said.

He added that although this was the domain of the Energy Ministry, his ministry was ready to be involved.

Inoguchi said, “One of the characteristics of this country is its political stability and this is a great advantage to global investors.”

She said TT stands out in the region as a provider of high-quality energy resources and one of the reasons for her visit here was to pay respect to the TT government as a leader in the Caribbean.

Inoguchi said Japan would also be keen to lend technical assistance to non-governmental organisations, small businesses, the fisheries and agricultural sector and manufacturing.
