Shot kidnap suspect dies

The dead man has been identified as Stefan Mills of Trou Macaque Road in Laventille. Police sources said Mills was wanted for several crimes and they had information that he was a member of the notorious G-Unit gang. He was wanted by the police in connection with a series of shootings, robberies, murders, and kidnappings.

Yesterday, Mills’ sister Keilan told Newsday her brother was a construction worker and the father of a four-month-old baby boy. She added that when he left home on Saturday, he told her that he was going to Cocorite to attend a wake.

She added that as far as she was concerned, her brother was not a member of any gang and his death at the hands of the police was a case of cold blooded murder. Mills said when she and others went to visit him on Saturday night, they were told by police officers that Mills was conscious.

Early yesterday, they received a telephone call indicating Mills had died. Police yesterday arrested a 22-year-old suspect in the attempted abduction of the two women at the Port-of-Spain Magistrate Court. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a third man.
