De Fosto’s BBQ to pay for CD

“Bar-Be-Que with a Difference” was organised in order to defray the costs of the production of his 2007 CD entitled The Best of De Fosto, Volume Five.

The CD will contain six new tracks, including “Santa the Businessman” as well as some of his older songs.

The barbecue begins at 11 am and will continue until 6 pm. There will be live entertainment by Impulse, Silver, Rootsman, Bally, Valentino, Trinidad Rio, Brigo and De Fosto himself.

When asked what was “different” about his barbecue De Fosto said, “Every time you go to a barbecue you always getting potato salad, potato salad. We serving macaroni salad instead. Not only that, but it will be prepared differently.

“We have Ronald Gittens doing the cooking and he has a special sauce.”

Ronald Gittens is a local chef who has worked in places such as the Arnos Vale Hotel in Plymouth, Rafters in Woodbrook, Bootleggers in Trincity and Hanami Sushi in MovieTowne.

Tickets are on sale at the Mas Camp Pub at the corner of Ariapita Avenue and French St, Neal and Massy All Stars panyard and Power 102 on Abercromby Street. There’s a choice of fish ($25), chicken ($25), lamb ($30) and vegetarian meals will also be on sale.

De Fosto extends thanks to Senator Joan Yuille-Williams, Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, for generously supporting this venture.
