Doctors meet on Jankey assault
Jankey claimed that while he was at the mortuary last Wednesday he was assaulted by another doctor.
A report was made to the Belmont Police and both Dr Jankey, and another doctor were interviewed.
The doctor who allegedly assaulted Dr Jankie denied the claim and said that Dr Jankey fell from a chair at the mortuary and he simply assisted him.
They were asked to supply statements to the investigator Cpl Mason and both men agreed.
According to a release sent yesterday, by one of the senior doctors, Dr Jankey is the most senior pathologist in the nation with a track record of long and meritorious service to the nation for which he was awarded the Chaconia Gold Medal.
The senior doctors have requested an emergency meeting with Ms Ursula Wilson, the Chief Executive Officer of the North West Regional Health Authority tomorrow, at 8.30 am to discuss the matter.
