Letter to UNC

How dare you? How dare any of you try to justify your disgraceful behaviour by saying you represent me and other people like me in this country? You have insulted us, you have maligned us, you have cost us our dignity and you have stripped us of our self-respect! You all have done nothing but lied, bribed, counter-bribed and sold to the highest bidder. Yet you want to talk about “people”? You want to talk about representing my interests?

None of you must ever be able to sleep comfortably at night. Not one of you can watch me in the eyes and tell me that everything you are doing is for the sake of the people and this country.

Some of you want to mount platforms and insult people who worked hard and sacrificed to get an education. Some of you want to pontificate on radio when you have not a single shred of decency or respectability. Some of you want to sue everyone and then run to the media with paperwork, but never win anything!

While all of you wear all the best brands and add further insult by talking about Dookeran wearing Francis Fashions suits, there are people out here who cannot even afford to buy bread any more because of your greed and selfishness.

All of you, Kamla, Gopeesingh, Ramesh, Jack, Mark and Bharath and Basdeo Panday — have made the lives of tens of thousands of people hopeless and miserable. For all of the torture you brought to the people who would have done anything for you, I want to assure you that even if you escape the wrath of man, you will never escape the wrath of God.

At this point, I would much rather suffer under a PNM dictatorship than support any one of you! I can only hope that the death of the UNC is only a precursor to losses that no one will mourn.
