Republic Bank helps Laventille

As a major part of its social corporate responsibility initiative — the Power to Make A Difference — Republic Bank had previously endowed the Loveuntil Foundation with $200,000 toward the completion and outfitting of the foundation’s training centre.

Heart Touch Mini-stries, which is spearheaded by Pastor Clive Dottin, is an outreach programme that addresses key issues such as HIV Education and Awareness; Nutrition; and Career Guidance.

Established two years ago in July 2004, the Loveuntil Foun-dation seeks to enhance the quality of life and empower the people of the Laventille community toward achieving their physical, spiritual and emotional goals.

Since its inception, the foundation has incorporated a number of philanthropic activities including: a pre-school for children aged 2 ? - 5 years; a Soup Kitchen which caters to over 50 under-privileged persons two days a week; and a bakery which provides goods to over 200 clients.

The Loveuntil Foundation has also incorporated the Social Help and Rehabilitative Efforts (SHARE) — a programme of the Trinidad and Tobago Government that distributes food baskets once a month to 50 households.

The foundation’s efforts to empower the Laventille community are in keeping with Republic Bank’s focus on poverty alleviation, health and youth development through education and sport.
