Bar patron stabbed to death
Two men were later arrested and charged with the murder and will appear in the Chaguanas Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
Atiba “Tiba” Mills was stabbed several times in his upper body while liming with friends at the bar. Police said he got into an argument with another man who allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him. Mills slumped to the ground and died on the spot.
The body was viewed by the district medical officer then removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre where an autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow morning.
When Sunday Newsday visited Mills’ home at Gurahoo Trace, Chase Village, relatives were struggling to come to terms with his death. They said he was a helpful person and a hard worker.
“Atiba was only interested in building his new home in Couva and raising his son,” a relative, who did not want to be identified said.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations are continuing the inquiries.
