Do You Know?

I want to get two things off my chest — things that irritate me. If I do it in a way that is the reversal of normal procedure, that may irritate anyone who decides to continue reading, but what about that? That will only be a slight variation from what is accepted here:

“Do dem back what dey do you,” instead of “Do dem before dey do you.”

Irritant No 1 — Reversal of normal procedure being used to relate it):

Answer No 1 — Candace

Normally the question comes first, doesn’t it?

But I want to teach the reader what is the question to which that is the correct answer.)

Question: What is your first name?

You should not ask, “What is your Christian name in a country like ours. There is no need for me to explain the reason.

Now to ask a question again:

Answer No 2: Candace Genber.

The question to which that is the correct answer is:

Question: What is your name?

Will someone be kind enough as to tell me why Answer No 1 is the one given by the average person here to the question immediately above?

Let us move on to another question to see the importance of answering questions correctly.

Question No 2 (asked of someone else):

Do you know Candace?

Answer (which must necessarily take the form of a question): Which Candace?

Do you see the point? Answer a question properly on the first occasion.

Irritant No 2 — I am not a “Soaps” fan, but I have nothing against people who enjoy looking at them. What irritates me immensely, however, is the fact that there is no protest from any quarter on the impression given that “jumping-into-bed is the solution to everything,” as advocated by the Bold and Beautiful film shown at 6.30 pm to confuse the minds and morals of our young people.

Tell me if you think this is fare for young people who are so easily influenced by what they see on television.

Eric Forrester jumps into bed with Brooke Logan and makes two children with her after having been married to Stephanie who many years later was discovered to have jumped into bed with Massimo.

Ridge, her son, eventually jumps into bed with Brooke, with whom his supposed father had jumped into bed for several years. Did the thought never revolt him?

Then Brooke jumps into bed with Ridge’s brother, Thorne, and later, acrobat that she was, she jumped into bed with her son-in-law, Deacon. She next jumps into bed with Dominic who had jumped into bed with Felicia, Eric’s daughter, who had also jumped into bed with Dante, and the child was his and not Dominic’s as originally thought.

Why subject our young people to all these disgusting acrobatic feats? It irritates me.

TV6, come cleaner than that at 6.30 pm.
