Jones captures first PSA 10k road race

Jones led for most of the race, sprinting to the finish line in a time of 33 minutes 57 seconds.

St Vincent’s Errol “Baldhead” Williams finished in the runners- up spot in 34:50 followed in third by Curtis Cox (35:17).

Fourth was Clarence Tobias (35:24), with Tobago’s Elvis Turner (35:39) fifth, and Kenrick Williams (35:45) sixth.

Next was Jules La Rode 36:13 in seventh place, followed by Nigel Francois 39:27 in eighth.

First amongst the Under-19s and ninth overall was Learie Lezama (41:28) while Lester Herbert (42:19) was tenth.

Christine Regis, winner of the OWTU 20K in June topped the female division clocking 45:33 seconds.

Runner-up Leisl Puckerin finished in 46:50 followed in third by Roxanne Morris (47:14). Fourth was Solange Griffith (48:04) while Susan Garcia (49:50) was fifth, and Debra Agong sixth in 51:22.

The top Over-50 runners were Carlyle Jackson (43:47) and Susan Joefield (55:00) while Kester Joseph was first amongst the physically challenged.

At the finish-line was PSA President Jennifer Baptiste-Primus and recently crowned Miss PSA 2006, Giselle Villareul.
