PLAY FIGHT ENDS IN STABBING
One of the sign painters — a 22-year-old man of Ackbar Trace, Avocat Village, South Oropuche — is warded at hospital where he was being treated yesterday for wounds to the chest and left hand. A-21-year-old man of Avocat Village, Fyzabad — was also treated at hospital for wounds to the left hand.
Police were yesterday continuing investigations into the incident as to what charges if any, would be laid against the two men. The incident occurred at about 5.15 pm on Tuesday, when the two sign painters were working on a project in South Oropuche. According a police report, the two began to “playfight” with each other. However, the “fight” got serious and the men began to struggle with each other.
The struggle further escalated into violence, police said, when one of them picked up a knife and stabbed the other in the left hand. A report stated that the victim grabbed the knife from his attacker’s hand and stabbed him in the chest and hand. Witnesses standing nearby eventually parted the fight, police said. The two sign painters, bleeding from their wounds, were taken to the San Fernando General hospital via an Emergency Health Services ambulance. PC Guerra of the Oropouche police is investigating.
