Kidnap suspects escape to Venezuela
Police believe the kidnapping is linked to the theft of the fishing pirogue— “Ocean Warrior”.
Investigators report that about 9 pm, on Sunday, Samuel Griffith, 53, of St Andrews Avenue, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando, was liming with a group of friends at Hatters panyard at Embacadere, when a heavily tinted B14 vehicle pulled up alongside him.
The report stated that two men armed with guns got out of the car and pushed Griffith into the trunk and drove away.
Griffith, police said, was released around midnight at Beach Camp, Palo Seco. Police officers investigating the report discovered the abandoned B14 vehicle at about 7 am on Monday at Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
Thirty minutes later, police said, fisherman Robert Nelson, 40, of Kings Wharf, San Fernando, discovered his 17 foot fibre glass fishing pirogue missing when he went to Mosquito Creek.
Investigations are continuing.
