Bacchanal at Central school

Pandemonium broke out yesterday afternoon in the secretary’s office of the Carapichaima Junior Secondary School when Jean King, a retired police officer, allegedly beat the secretary’s desk as she demanded to see the principal, Shirila Ramkhelawan, to discuss what she (King) termed the continuing gang violence at the school.

“Today as a parent I have begun a campaign to put an end to gang violence because somebody must protect our children from it,” she said. Ramkhelawan was being interviewed by police officers yesterday and sent a message through security officers that she would not be speaking to the media.
