Darts team aims for bullseye in W/Cup

The national team comprises (Men) Kevin Jacob, Rahaman Hassanali, Ricardo Cedeno, Vivekanand Dyal; (Women) Jo-Ann Christopher and Charmaine Harrington.

Four officials will accompany the players when they leave on October 7. They are Rosemarie Duff, Colin Mora, Donald Mohammed and Roger Christopher.

There will be three separate tournaments at the World Cup which include men, women and youths.

The team has been training for the past month at the Kosmos Club on 36 New Street in Port-of-Spain and has been funded by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.

They secured their berth in the world event by placing first in the Caribbean Dart Championships last year which was held in Barbados.

TT’s men team has been grouped with Finland, the Philippines, Latvia and Switzerland while the women will face India, Brazil, New Zealand and Russia.

And the Trinidad and Tobago Darts Association will be hosting a Fund Raising Cruise on the Treasure Queen tonight from 8 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are available at the Kosmos Club, corner of New and Edward Street. For further information call 627-3364.
