Here are some of the many events you can choose from.
The ever-popular Conversations in De Yard is on this evening from 6:30 pm to midnight at Alice Yard, 80 Roberts St., Woodbrook .
This week’s featured performers are Gazette and Chantwell. Gazette is a relatively new band on the local scene and their music has been described as “definitely Trini and full of potential”.
Chantwell a rapso group from back in the Kisskidee days led by Rubadiri Victor is experiencing a rebirth.
As always, the focus will be on constructive conversation, so music will be played at conversation volume. Admission is free.
For art lovers there is Lisa O’Connor’s latest exhibition which continues throughout the weekend at 101 Art Gallery, corner Jamaica Blvd. and St. Vincent Avenue, Federation Park .
The gallery opening hours are 9am - 5pm weekdays and 10 am to 2 pm tomorrow.
Foodies can check out Secretaries Can Cook 2 tomorrow from 6 pm to 9 pm at the YWCA, #25 Alexandra Street, St. Clair.
The event, organised by The National Association of Administrative Professionals of Trinidad & Tobago (NAAP) and The International Office Professionals Summit Committee, is an all- inclusive dinner and lime fundraising venture. Music will be provided by DJ Simply Smooth.
Dinner will be served from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
On Saturday and Sunday the Marcia Charles Dance Theatre Company will stage its dance season production, “Rhythm” at Queen’s Hall, St Anns. Shows will be at 8 pm tomorrow and 6.30 pm on Sunday.
The performance will cover 27 dances comprising modern, folk, jazz and Negro spiritual pieces.
Over in Tobago, Operation Miracle Hour in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture will present the ninth concert in the series the National Anti Crime Watch Music Campaign on the Praise Circuit. Venue is the Milford Road Esplanade in Scarborough and the concert takes place from 6 pm to 11 pm.
Featured artistes include the TT Police Band and Choir, Affluent, Drummers of Tomorrow, Rhythmic Vibrations, Naomi Abiola and Gem’s Drama Group.
