The girls who have spent six years with the group include Anita Maharaj, Joyceline Abraham and Nikita Jaimungal. All six girls will be performing soca, chutney and calypso dances for the programme held by the cultural groups “Diaspora of TT” and “Windies Posse”. The show entitled, “Trini Culture” will take place in Ida Park, Delray.
The venture is meant to give Americans the opportunity to taste the culture of TT through its music, songs and dance, cuisine and fashions.
According to Kamal Abdool of “Windies Posse’, this will give the Trinidadians living in the US the opportunity to reflect and it will also give children the chance to enjoy the culture of TT on this important occasion.
The day will unfold with the sound of steelpan which will be followed by traditional mas bands crossing the stage.
