Jabloteh aim to extend Pro League supremacy
Jabloteh, the 2007 league kings, have a four-point cushion over their nearest rivals W Connection and will be looking to inflict more misery on North East, who replaced Clint Marcelle with Miguel Hackett as coach after edging Tobago United 1-0 last Tuesday at the Mucurapo venue.
Both teams have been consistent of late, as Jabloteh have been unbeaten in their last five games while North East have not tasted defeat in their last four league encounters.
The earlier match of the double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium will feature the in-form St Ann’s Rangers, who are in a four-game unbeaten run, versus Defence Force, the season’s most disappointing team.
Two other games will be contested at 5 pm. Connection, unbeaten in their last ten fixtures, will host cellar-placed Ma Pau at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, in the meeting of clubs fielding Brazilian-born players.
Caledonia AIA, who have drawn their last two matches, will oppose United Petrotrin at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. Petrotrin, who lost their last four encounters, will have former national player Leon Carpette as their new coach after the axing of Strike Squad wingback Brian Williams.
The contest between Joe Public and Tobago United have been postponed since the “Eastern Lions” will be facing Montreal Impact tomorrow in the Group Stage of the inaugural CONCACAF Club Championships.
