Naim’s mother still awaits answers
Twenty-eight-year-old Solomon died on January 9 from a medical complication. He was initially diagnosed with a heart ailment requiring heart surgery.
However, when the surgery took place on January 2 surgeons found there was nothing wrong with Solomon’s heart.
A problem was found with an artery running from Solomon’s groin and surgery was recommended to treat this but Solomon died before the procedure could be done.
An autopsy on January 12 found the primary cause of death was the result of the problem with the artery. Solomon’s mother Susan Jagdeo contacted Newsday upset that she had still not heard anything from the investigation launched by the Health Ministry.
In an interview, Jagdeo said she cannot get any answers from the North Central Regional Health Authority.
“They said the Health Minister Jerry Narace called for an investigation and the investigation has gone higher than them.
They throw me off to Narace and I don’t know if he is doing anything,” she said.
Jagdeo said after her son died she made an official complaint to the Customer Service Department at the EWMSC and also dropped off a letter to Narace prior to the story of her son’s being highlighted in the Newsday on February 1. “They knew about the complaint and did not do anything. Saying the investigation is ongoing I find that’s not enough.
“All the hospital saying is it’s in Narace’s hands.”
Jagdeo is angered still by what she sees as the needless death of her son, who left a wife and three children.
