Businessman’s son chopped

According to a police report, sometime between half past seven and eight o’clock on Tuesday morning, the bandits entered the home of businessman David Ross whose son Ralph, was home alone.

The bandits demanded cash and the younger Ross handed over $2,000. But the bandits were not satisfied and demanded more money. Ralph, police said, claimed there was no more money in the house and the bandits started to chop him. The intruders then left the house and escaped.

Ralph was taken to the St Clair Medical Complex where he was treated and warded. He was discharged yesterday and is now recovering at home.

Contacted for comment, David Ross confirmed the incident and added that his son was out of the hospital and recovering at home. He however refused to divulge any further information on the incident.

An investigating officer yesterday told Newsday that investigations were ongoing and that arrests were imminent. The officer added that since the incident, mobile and foot patrols have been stepped up in the area.
