‘Sex in De City’ goes down South

When they played at the CLR James Auditorium, the ladies of Ha Ha Ha productions- Penelope Spencer, Nikki Crosby and Mairoon Ali donned their go go boots and hot pants, ran from the police, jocked their waists and chanted “down south...down south...” (among other things) and down south is where they’re headed. Naparima Bowl, to be exact. For three days. Definitely, three days only and there’s a buzz...

Sex In De City is a rollicking compilation of pieces written and directed by the ladies, themselves and deals with the lighter side of sex and sexuality.

In Sex In De City the audience hears from three prostitutes in Woodbrook expounding on the pressures of plying their trade in the midst of these economic dire straits. In another piece entitled Head Games, the ladies suit up as some very believable boys on the block, giving a little insight into the casual parlance of the Trini man lime, giving much credence to the saying “boys will be boys”. These are just a few of the hilarious high octane pieces that make up Ha Ha Ha Productions’ Sex In De City.

Apart from Spencer, Crosby and Ali, actors Conrad Parris, Arnold Goindhan and another theatre stalwart Glenn A. Davis make up the cast of Sex In De City. Davis and Goindhan appear alongside the rest of the cast, on the Naparima Bowl stage, after a bit of a hiatus and they certainly bring it, mashing up audiences with their expert comedic timing!
