Family fun and fitness in La Romain
The fitness shows will take place tomorrow between 9 am and 7 pm and on Sunday gates open at 12 noon for a Family Fun Celebration for adults and children.
Promoter Richard Seechan said it is the first time the Southern city is hosting “Fitness Festival” which can be described as a wide range of physical fitness competitions.
“On Saturday we will have spin burn out and power lifting, as well as an aerobathon and a body building show — to be followed by a big “After Party” at Sting,” said Seechan, who promised that local body building star Darrem Charles and his son, Renel, will guest pose at tomorrow’s events.
He said Sunday’s activities include a car and bicycle show, martial arts tournaments and exhibitions, Strongest Man Event, a hotdog eating contest and a health and fitness exposition.
Seechan said that Sunday’s celebrations culminate in a grand car show display of 300 vehicles. The car show is to be hosted by Barely Legal, one of the top customising shops in this country. “The car show is going to be a huge event and we will also offer free Sound Pressure Load (SPL) testing, you know, for optimal music in your cars,” said Seechan.
Seechan hopes that the public shows support for “Fitness Festival 2009” whether they are “buff or not” by coming out to enjoy two days of fun and fitness for the entire family.
Tickets can be bought at Biofitness, Westmoorings; Body Glow in Long Circular Mall; Extreme Fitness in Chaguanas or Gulf View Health and Fitness, Gulf View La Romaine.
