Hospedales stars for ‘Sando’ Academy
Hospedales netted eight times throughout the Under-8 competition and copped the Golden Boot award. The runner-up in this category was Jan Steadman School of Soccer.
A and R Coaching School and Dunstan Williams Soccer Academy were declared Joint winners for the Under-13 event as both were tied on points at the end of play.
The Under-10 was dominated and won by Dunstan Williams and saw the Marabella Family Crisis team claiming runner-up position.
Jan Steadman’s School emerged winners of the Under-6 division. San Fernando Sports claimed the silver and coming in third was A and R Coaching. This category proved to be the most exciting on the day as parents, coaches and spectators were chanting and motivating the young children on.
Some of the participating teams were A and R Coaching, San Fernando Sport, Jan Steadman, Dunstan Williams, Marabella Family Crisis, La Romaine Strikers, Point Fortin Youth Football Academy and Gasparillo Youths.
Each child received a medal and certificate of participation to motivate them toward pursuing and furthering their football as young players.
The tournament was sponsored by the Ministry of Sport, Raymond’s High Fashion, Davey Harper and the parents of the San Fernando Sports Academy.
There will be another development competition on November 5 at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
