Bois Canot doing a ‘River Dance’

The band’s six sections are “Egypt -River Nile,” “Yellow River of China,” “the Ganges river of India,” “The Amazon River of South America,” “The Caroni River of Trinidad” and the final section of “River come down!” Each section tells a story of a major flood which resulted in loss of life and property.

This year’s portrayal pays tribute to all the people in this country who have lost their homes and other belongings due to flooding. Through her band Mendez is making a plea to the relevant government agencies to work to prevent flooding. She is also making a plea to all those people who throw garbage into the river to stop.

The band is situated at 84A Saddle Road, Maraval (first road on the right after La Sieva corner off Saddle Road). The costumes and other pictures of the band can be seen on Facebook – Bois Canot Productions. The band caters for children from age three years to 16 years.
