Chaos in front St Joseph Police Station
This road is the main thoroughfare for the residents of St Joseph and Maracas Valley. There are many schools in the vicinity as well as a private hospital.
The police have parked a large mobile station on this road and it occupies one third of the width.
This is directly opposite the entrance to the St Joseph College. The side road is also littered with derelict vehicles filled with mosquitoes and rats.
Vehicles are also allowed to park on both sides of the roadway up to a junction, near the RC Church, to visit the nearby bars and shops.
There must be immediate no parking along this entire roadway that must be enforced, and also the police must set the example and clear the area near the station. They should also consider putting a compulsory left turn for vehicles attempting to go west at the church junction as they are the usual short cutters attempting to filter back. An urgent answer is required as this has gone on for years with this “temporary” police station. After former minister Martin Joseph turned the sod on the new station many years ago, of course the site remains an empty parking lot.
