Wait until fat lady sings

Granted he is the favourite in the race based on the recently concluded success of Local Government elections. There is a saying that favourites are sometimes beaten. This race is not over until the fat lady sings.

The rank outsider and serious contender is the Independent Liberal Party candidate, Mr Om Lalla. Jack Warner needs to do a lot more door to door campaigning to bring the seat home for the ILP. Reduce the number of mass political meetings and concentrate on serious face to face interaction with constituents.

Tell the constituents what an ILP victory would mean for them. Tell them the PNM is basking in its victory now, but they have nothing to offer them until next election, 2015 if the Local Government elections do not go to their heads.

A final word on St Joseph bye- election: Ian Alleyne may be the jester or joker in a field of serious candidates to represent the people of St Joseph.

For me, the ILP can be a formidable force in Parliament if it could bring home the St Joseph seat.
