blink | bmobile introduces visual voicemail, directext and brewards

The services showed how customers could reward themselves just for paying their bill, market their company to thousands with one online app and effortlessly “read” and manage their voicemail with a special mobile app.

The DirecText app featured, enablers advertisers to reach a large segment of their customer base using SMS messaging. The service allows businesses to create a 160-character long message to be sent out to customers, while at the same time letting customers also send messages to businesses.

With mobile phone penetration in Trinidad and Tobago already over 140 percent, this service is one of the most effective means of advertising to customers. DirecText reaches customers in the US and Canada, and roaming subscribers as well. The service is accessible for advertising to customers at a relatively low cost, via an online portal.

One of the new apps available to customers for managing their voicemail messages is an app called Visual Voice Mail. Available for download at Google Play store this app has special appeal to most people not inclined to regularly do voicemail retrieval.

It is particularly appealing to business people who receive several voicemails during business meetings and wish to prioritise the voice mails they listen to in the limited time available as they move from one meeting to the next.

The app allows users to view key details of all voicemail messages, including the time and date they were received, and select the ones they consider most urgent. They can then listen to the voicemails they select while leaving the others for later when they have more time.

Saving time and marketing costs were great tools for the businesses at TIC but everyone agreed getting rewards for doing things you do anyway is even better.

The blink | bmobile bRewards cards were demonstrated to do just that. bReward cardholders are rewarded with points when they pay their mobile phone bills or top-up their prepaid accounts. These points can be used to get great discounts when making purchases from over 150 partner merchants at locations nationwide. Cardholders can obtain discounts between 5 and 10 percent at bRewards merchant partners within the categories of Wellness, Food and Beverage, Entertainment, Fitness and Sports, just to name a few.

Apart from the seminars, blink | bmobile’s convention booth gave visitors the opportunity to see major network improvement programmes in the company. Blink | bmobile’s Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology is a major step towards empowering homes and offices with the means to enjoy a buffet of direct and third party services.

From TV entertainment, security and video camera surveillance and broadband access to video conferencing, home and office automation and near field communications, FTTH brings powerful broadband access to the masses as TSTT plans a five-fold increase in homes within fibre-served areas.

One of the visitors to the convention Jos? Ross was impressed. “It’s very good how clean the streaming is. There are no buffering issues, the picture is very clear.” Nicola Gormandy said, “The surveillance system is great, not pixilated. Everything is very detailed.”
