The power of the mind

“I should have followed my mind”; “My mind told me that I should have done this or that” are common statements made on a daily basis. But do we really understand the level of power and/or influence embodied within your mind. More importantly, we need know how to consciously utilise our mind power. The mind is a fascinating being in itself. It has the power to effect changes in the world; because of its uniqueness, people of varying orientations seek insights into its nature and power.

But what is the mind? There are no simple answers that speak to understanding the mind. In fact, sometimes there are no answers. What we can do, however, is to examine those behaviours that point towards the workings of the mind. Our mind is at the core of our consciousness. It produces our thoughts, perceptions and emotions. Much of our curiosity about the mind is directed towards the workings of the brain as we become fascinated by the extraordinary abilities associated with the brain. One of the keys to harnessing this potentially unlimited power of the mind is to expand your level of awareness. When your awareness is contracted, the flow of energy which permeates throughout your body and mind is hampered. You tend to remain stuck in toxic emotions. On the other hand, when you expand your awareness, your energy flows freely and you become more flexible and creative. Choosing to develop the understanding to enhance your awareness with regard to how true that is, combined with a willingness to consciously and consistently apply that understanding, will enable and empower you to create a kind and quality of life for yourself that transcends what’s often referred to by the vast majority as common logic.

Most engage in their day-to-day activities quite unconsciously and as a result, perceive that life just delivers what it will. In the vast majority of cases, due to this “asleep with eyes wide open state”, what life delivers is in more cases that not far less than desired, and this is precisely why so many believe that getting what they want is hopeful or wishful thinking at best.

Consciously and intentionally utilised mind power provides outcomes and tangible results – a kind of quality of life which is often perceived and widely believed as being irrational, illogical and quite uncommon.
