With this in mind, TSTT, with a broadband access network covering near 85 percent of the TT population, now asks itself; “How can we achieve 95 percent reliable coverage of TT?” Because increased coverage, means an increasing number of people being connected and thus, an increased chance for innovation.
“Technology is the most powerful enabler of the modern world. Any investment that brings technology closer to people, is an investment to improve quality of life, quality of family, quality of business. And, it raises one of the most fundamental questions of our era:“How can technology help us to become more human?” According to Rakesh Goswami, EVP of Strategic Alliance, Enterprise and Tobago Operations at TSTT, while speaking at the opening of the Trade and Investment Convention (TIC) at Centre of Excellence Macoya on Wednesday, the story of TSTT may well be able to answer that question.
TSTT continued its partnership with the TIC, signing on as a major sponsor for yet another year as the company continues to maintain its reputation as the leading telecommunications provider in TT. TSTT celebrates 25 years of business operations in TT this year, and wants to emphasise that it has grown into much more than just a mobile company, but also provides many business solutions such from video conferencing to IP-PBX Business Systems and Network Solutions from major international tech companies such as Cisco, Avaya and Juniper. All of these, in addition of course to its mobile, broadband, entertainment and security services will be on display throughout the Conference.
Goswami shared that the installation of the country’s largest fibre optic network, has the potential to impact national competitiveness and innovation.
At the TIC, TSTT’s aim will be to use its blink | bmobile product line to help businesses answer the critical business efficiency and productivity question – How to reduce operating and communications costs to become more efficient and more competitive? And, to demonstrate new ways and technologies to grow and remain always connected / accessible to their customers to win them, delight them and keep them.
“TSTT is on a mission to provide customers with value, innovation, new solutions, service excellence and to invest in our people to realise their potential. We believe that it is only when we truly understand the “human-ness” behind technology—the behaviours, the needs, the hopes and dreams— only then can we create better solutions, solve bigger problems and achieve authentic change,” said Goswami. “As you shall see from our financial results, we have been able to accomplish this profitably, proving that it does not have to be an “either / or” scenario.”
The modern, attractive design of the blink | bmobile booth seemed to be a hit with visitors, with UWI Engineering Lecturer, Clement Imbert sharing that he is now considering a quad-play bundle already being a broadband and mobile customer.
“The booth looks very attractive and I will come and spend some time there. I have two products from TSTT right now - my cellphone and internet, also when I go up the islands it’s good to have it, I am in Jamaica often because I am at the university so it’s very good that way. Right now I am with Flow but I will probably get a full package and get the entertainment service also, as well as security,” said Imbert.
