Artist Couture

Whether you’re backstage at the hottest fashion show, or sitting in front of your mirror, Artist Couture offers a number of loose highlighters called Diamond Glow Powders, brush belts and the Essential Fan Brush.

The Diamond Glow Powders are available in several shades including “Supernova,” “Gold Digger,” “Mermaid,” “Fantasy,” “Lickable,” “Double Take,” “Yass!” and “Conceited.”

I like that the powder is so fine that it doesn’t sit heavy on the skin. Here are my top pics and those of clients I’ve tried it on. A word of caution when applying these highlighters: use a very light hand; you only need a tiny amount. A little goes a long way.

MERMAID FANTASY

This is my favorite highlighter from the line. It looks white in the pot but when applied on the skin it has a beautiful high glow of turquoise with a hint of lime iridescence. Think of a mermaid and you get some idea of this colour, which should suit any skin tone.

GOLD DIGGER

This is my second favorite. This powder has a high glow and light gold iridescence. I think it will look amazing on lighter skin tones because of its light gold iridescence. I would apply this during the day for a natural looking glow.

YASS!

This highlighter packs a subtle glow and light pink iridescence. For people who prefer a more subtle glow, this is the powder for you. It doesn’t add too much pigmentation to the skin and a little mixed into your lip gloss for that pinky shine would look great.

CONCEITED

This powder gives a high rose gold iridescence to the skin. Its gold reflections look beautiful in those soft focus photographs. This is a great one for persons with darker skin tones to which it gives a bronze highlight with gold reflections.

SUPERNOVA

This is a limited edition product. Of all, Supernova has such an unbelievably fine texture. It looks pink in the pot but it gives the skin a high glow with lavender-blue iridescence. I don’t see myself using this as a highlighter since the lavender glow on my skin is not a natural glow. Maybe it could be used for fantasy or costume makeup or perhaps mixed with a gloss or even on the inner corners of the eyes for a pop of colour. On a black base this highlighter will give a beautiful lavender smoky look.

I’ve found the best tool when applying the Diamond Glow Powders is a fan brush. It picks up the product easily and allows great ease when applying to face. You can dust off any excess and lightly sweep across cheeks, allowing you to build coverage as you see fit.

Purchasing the products on the website can be challenging as many seems to be sold out but there are beauty retailers who sell locally. Give them a try and enjoy your glow!
