In reply, Progressors were only able to accumulate 70 runs after losing five wickets. A fightback seemed on, as Vijay Harrynanan and Kerwin Gonzales put on 22 and 13 respectively but their team eventually fell short when overs ran out. In other results, Game Over’s Fareed Karim put in a Manof- the-Match performance, contributing 17 runs and taking two wickets, to ensure it was game over for their rivals Blood Brothers who lost by 57 runs. When Game Over’s bowling pair of Anthony Locario and Fareed Karim took the ball, the duo destroyed their batting opponents as together they took six wickets to halt the chase.
Game Over were defending a total of 97-4 which was made possible by a 22-run contribution by Augustus Ali. Terry Lalla finished with two wickets for 11 runs bowling for Blood Brothers.
In another fixture, Invasion made a comfortable 87 runs for the loss of only two wickets against Alliance.
Together, Damion Hanooman (24) and Peter Mahase (18) made a 42-run contribution, which proved sufficient. Alliance were later bowled out for 42 runs, as only one player (Rodney Stowe 10) made it to double figures, clinching a 45-run victory tfor Invasion. In a low scoring affair, D-Boss Team beat Gunners by 12 runs, After Gunners dismissed D-Boss Team for the seemingly paltry score of 63 runs, it was all to play for either team.
Daniel Mahabir (4/3) and Rishi Manah (2/9) had did most of the damage as Kris Samlal (20), Shameed Ali (12) and Raoul Sammy (12) chipped in to the total.
Chasing the score, D-Boss Team’s Imtiaz Mohammed (2/12) curtailed Gunners who could only finish on 51 for six.
Hunters’ Kevin Ramrattan’s brilliant knock of 42 runs was vital in his team’s 44-run victory over S & S Web Source, not to mention his bowling figurers of four wickets for eight runs. Batting first, Hunters amassed a challenging score of 94 despite losing six wickets. Also contributing with the bat were Ravi Soodeen (20) and Daruis Besai (16). Despite decent bowling figurers by Avian Mejias (2-8) and Terrance Hinds (2-9) for S & S Web Source, the chase was a bit too much.
Hunters eventually bowled out S & S Web Source for 50 runs.
Meanwhile, Strike Force hammered Mango Boys by 55 runs spearheaded by aggressive knocks from Reno Nanan (33), Amrit Sammy (28), Ricky Jacob (16) and Sheldon Holford (11).
Batting first, Strike Force compiled a massive 103 for three in their allotted overs.
Leading his team’s defence of 103 runs, was Sheldon Beacon (2/8), who did just what was required to prevent Mango Boys from coming close to the total.
Mango Boys’ Milton Dookeran (12) and Rishi Rampersad (10) could not build any momentum for their team which closed on 50 for six.
