TT bag three CAREBACO medals

Cuban-born TT representative, Solangel Guzman, fought valiantly in the Women’s Singles final but fell 18-21, 18-21 victim against top seed Welsh athlete Aimme Moran.

On her way to the title match, an unseeded Guzman blew past Montoya Riviera (Barbados) 21-5, 21-8 in the semi-final round and Katherine Wynter (Jamaica) 21-9, 21-6 in the ‘quarters;.

In the men’s equivalent, Will Lee held on to bronze when he was ousted 18-21, 16-21 in the semi-finals against eventual silver medallist Soren Opti (Suriname).

And in Men’s Doubles action, TT’s Lee/Alistair Espinoza held on to bronze after losing their “semi” 14-21, 11-21 against Suriname’s pair of Gilmar Jones/Dylan Darmohoetomo.

Compatriots, Naim Mohammed/Rahul Rampersad settled for fourth overall.
