Kitchen Krew prove too hot for Hard Drive

In Game One on Monday night, tight bowling by Kitchen Krew ensured a narrow five-run victory over Hard Drive.

Responding to Kitchen Krew’s score of 62/8, Hard Drive’s Nigel Sieunarine made 15 runs and Dinesh Ragbar 12; but it was the bowling attack of Kitchen Krew that proved crucial. Aaron Dass got three wickets for six runs while Noel Gopaul took 2/15 and Stephan Chairman 2/18.

In the second game of the night, Shiva Roopchand had a knock of 26 runs to help his team Ronsafe Smasherz to a decent score of 60/4 against Aranguez SC.

However, it was thanks to the combined team effort of Aranguez SC’s batsmen Rohan Parson (20), Kadeem Williams (13 not out), Ramone Harrell (10) and Ariz Khan (10 not out) who helped their team to a seven-wicket victory, as they reached 61/3.

On Tuesday, batsmen Simboonath Ramrattan and Antonio Ramrattan blasted the bowling attack of Mt Hope Masters, when they scored 24 and 19 runs respectively to guide their team Hunters to a useful total of 91/7. Mt Hope Masters’ Ravi Seegobin took four wickets for 23 runs; however his figures were bettered by Kevin Ramrattan’s 5/11 for Hunters. Ramrattan’s figures, coupled with Ravi Soodeen’s 2/0, sealed a comfortable 51-run victory as Mt Hope Masters were dismissed for 40 with 2.4 overs remaining.

In Game Two on the night, between Charlieville Super Kings and Stag Winners, Super Kings made a competitive score of 80 with Dave Samooj topscoring with 24.

But Stag Winners fell short, with five balls remaining, as they were bowled out for 70. Kevon Cooper (15) and Salim Hossain (13) were the only scorers of note. Salim Hossain got 3/11 while Christopher Vincent had 2/15 and Qadeer Mohammed 2/19.
