St Anthony’s jump to SSFL lead
St Anthony’s strolled past the struggling St Mary’s 4-1 at the St Mary’s Ground, St Clair to move from second to first on the 15- team standings.
Also moving up one spot were Shiva Boys, who whipped overnight leaders Trinity Moka 2-0 at Irwin Park, Siparia. Yohannes Richardson broke the deadlock in the 32 nd minute and Tyrell Baptiste got Shiva’s second in the 70 th. Trinity Moka dropped from first to sixth on the standings after yesterday’s results.
Presentation San Fernando climbed one place to third after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Signal Hill at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre.
Akeem Benjamin put Signal Hill in front at the half-hour mark before Nathaniel Dyer equalised in the 61 st.
The game seemed destined to end up in a draw but Jordan Riley converted a penalty, with three minutes of regulation time remaining, to seal the win for Presentation San Fernando.
Naparima, the reigning Premiership winners, blanked Fatima 3-1 at the Fatima Ground in Mucurapo while San Juan overcame East Mucurapo 2-1 at San Juan.
And, in a double-header at the Mahaica Oval in Point Fortin, Fyzabad got the better of Pleasantville 4-2 while St Benedict’s picked up their first point of the season, when they held St Augustine to a goalless draw.
