Sea of fashion

These two young designers portrayed their theme, At The Helm, in a style which showed off the “Look, the Fashion and the Mas”.

Understanding the theme was relatively easy but the underling message of At The Helm is “you control your life, no matter what the situation you steer your own course.” The theme shows off three main clusters “Water World” (Ocean and Sea), “Aquaria” (Sea Life) and “Nautica” (Fancy Sailor).

The Norman’s passion for fashion and mas is seen in their artistic expression which has invited Trinidad Carnival into a realm that is so rare.

The costumes At The Helm includes “The Fighter”, “The Survivor”, “Tale of the Sea”, “Anchor’s Aweigh” and “Catch Me if You Can”.

Among the patrons at the sold- out Central Bank Auditorium were Minister of Community Development, Culture and The Arts, Dr Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly; Minister of Agriculture, Clarence Rambharat; veteran mas designer Peter Minshall, former mayor of Port-of-Spain, Louis Lee Sing and Speaker of the House Bridgid Annisette- George.
