Disabled group lauds national Paralympians

The TT trio of Akeem Stewart, Nyoshia Cain and Shanntol Ince were due to return home last night, with a haul of three medals - two from Stewart (gold in the men’s F43/F44 javelin and silver in the men’s F43/ F44 discus) and one from Cain (bronze in the women’s T43/ T44 100 metres sprint).

In a media release issued by TT/DPI public relations officer Bhawani Persad yesterday, “we are very proud of their achievements, including our (javelin) and discus participant who made us proud with his magnificent performance of attaining one gold and one silver, and our track and field athlete who clinched the bronze medal in the 100 metre finals.

“Indeed this is a moment of celebration,” the media release ended.
